Nutrition

As cute and loveable as our pets are, they still have a deeply rooted wild side – instincts and behaviors that go back for thousands of years.

In the wild, our pets would hunt for food and their diet -designed by nature - would have everything they need to live healthy, long lives. It's what nature intended.

Today, our pets don't have to hunt for their food. They have us. But, to live a long and healthy life, they still benefit from that wonderfully diverse and balanced diet designed by Mother Nature.

But, with thousands of diet choices, an overabundance of information on what is 'right' for our pets, and misleading marketing, it can be tough to know what is best. .when it comes to choosing the best diet for your pet, there is no one-size-fits-all answer. The bottom line is this: it is all about the ingredients.

Some commonly used ingredients in many foods can make your pet sick. Two of the most common culprits, corn and wheat, are cheap fillers that help the manufacturer's bottom line and make your pet feel full. But they are also thought to contribute to common skin and digestive issues. Think about it. In the wild, dogs and cats don't hunt for corn or wheat. The crave meat.

Other questionable ingredients you may find in big name pet foods: ethoxyquin, a preservative that is also used in pesticides; BHT, and BHA, both of which have been linked to causing cancer in lab tests.

At Green Paws Pet Market all of our foods and treats are free of dangerous preservatives, artificial colors, mystery “meat meals”, and other icky things. Our foods and treats come from reliable sources and we won't sell anything that we wouldn't give to our own pets. We feature foods and treats made with human-grade ingredients. Heck, we even sample many of the foods we carry. If it's good enough for for our furry family members, it's good enough for us, right?

Our primary goal is to help you provide the best for your pet. Let us know how we can help you.
